UNITED CONFIRM SKELLY SCHOLARSHIP DEAL

Canberra United are pleased to confirm the return of young attacker Lillian Skelly to the club for the 2024/25 Ninja A-League season as one of the team’s Scholarship players.

A Junior Matildas international, Skelly started her career with the Crookwell Soccer Club, going on to play representative football for both the Southern Tableland FA and latterly, the NSW Institute of Sport team.

“We are pleased that Lillian has agreed to join us for the new Ninja A-League season, and I am looking forward to working with her,” Head Coach Antoni Jagarinec said.

“Lillian proved in her short time with the club last season that she is a diligent player, who is extremely keen to learn and become the best professional player that she can possibly be.

“She has an extensive skillset for a young player and brings the intensity and ball mastery to the wide areas that is essential for the modern-day player. I am excited to see how she develops as  footballer this season.”

Skelly, who joined United for the 2023/24 A-League season, made her Canberra United debut off the bench as a substitute for Tegan Bertolissio in the 2-2 draw with Perth Glory at Macedonia Park in February of this year

“I thoroughly  enjoyed my spell with Canberra United last season and am delighted to be back for another season with the club,” Skelly commented about the renewal of her contract with United.

“I learned so much in such a short space of time last season, simply being around the squad and getting the chance to train with some amazing footballers. Getting the chance to make my A-League debut was a dream come true and I am excited by the prospect of enhancing my skills further this season.”

Skelly has committed to Canberra United for the 2024/25 season, and you can too! Packages for season memberships are available now on our club website at www.canberraunited.com.au.
