Canberra United trio Ellie Carpenter, Amy Sayer and Karly Roestbakken have been selected in Gary Van Egmond’s Young Matildas squad for the upcoming training camp and International fixture against Thailand in Sydney.
Recently Football Federation Australia (FFA) announced that it will host an ASEAN-Australia Football Exchange in the week of the Australian Government’s ASEAN-Australia Special Summit.
As part of the exchange the Westfield Young Matildas will have the opportunity to train in Canberra and Sydney between 11 to 15 March, and play an international friendly against their Thai counterparts.
Carpenter and Sayer are no strangers to Young Matildas action, but the selection of Roestbakken is a huge boost to the Canberra local and a just reward for a number of outstanding performances throughout Season 10 of the Westfield W-League.
