Four more players have been added to the Canberra United squad ahead of the Ninja A-League season as goalkeepers Sally James and Coco Majstorovic are joined by midfielder Mary Stanic-Floody and defender Hayley Taylor-Young.
The inclusion of the quartet brings United’s numbers up to ten with plenty more due to sign on the dotted line over the next few weeks ahead of pre-season commencing in late September.
The duo between the sticks return after a successful 2024/25 campaign in which Sally James played twenty-four matches, being in goal for all bar ten minutes of the Ninja A-League year, the minutes in which Coco Majstorovic took over against Western Sydney Wanderers at Wanderers Park.
Further forward, Mary Stanic-Floody also played twenty-three matches, scoring against Perth Glory (twice), Brisbane Roar and Western United, whilst defender Hayley Taylor-Young was ever-present in all twenty-four matches.
“We are delighted to be able to welcome these four players back into the Canberra United family for the 2025/26 Ninja A-League season,” United Head Coach Antoni Jagarinec commented.
“It’s great to be able to have some continuity in the squad, particularly between the posts where reliability is a vital asset. In Sally and Coco, we have exactly that.
“Mary was an integral part of our attacking set-up last season, her passing range and ability to strike some spectacular goals making her a firm favourite with our fans.
“Hayley has always enjoyed the same rapport with our support, being a Canberra local and a player who always gives 100% to the cause.”
James was named the Ellie Brush Players’ Player of the Year for 2024/25 whilst Taylor-Young took home the Members’ Player of the Year Award at the end of season awards night.
