Canberra United have strengthened their attacking stocks with the signing of exciting forward, Kiara De Domizio, ahead of the new 2025/26 Ninja A-League season.
The attacker spent two seasons with Western United, scoring the goal to secure the Melbourne club’s first home Elimination Final in Tarneit in the 2023/2024 A-League season.
This was then followed up with a series of clutch performances throughout the 2024/25 season, playing a key role in helping Western United return to finals football once again.
“We welcome Kiara to Canberra United,” Head Coach Antoni Jagarinec said. “Kiara has exactly the kind of profile that we are looking for at the club being a young, dynamic, and hungry footballer.
“We know all about her abilities as a player having seen it at first-hand in the competition over the past two seasons whilst she was with Western United, so know exactly what to expect from her.
“She brings excellent energy and positivity in her position and will be a terrific addition to the squad as we seek to build more depth and quality ahead of the new season.”
Canberra United fans are no strangers to the impact of De Domizio, and neither are followers of the Ninja A-League Women’s competition.
The dynamic forward etched her name into the headlines last season with a superb stoppage-time winner against reigning champions Sydney FC, scoring with her very first touch of the campaign off the bench.
That moment proved to be the catalyst for the 24-year-old, quickly becoming known as the “Clutch Queen”. With her electric speed and sharp instincts in the final third, she showcased the ability to turn games on their head. In limited minutes, she recorded three goals and two assists – averaging a goal contribution every 97 minutes.
“I’m really excited about the opportunity to move to Canberra and join what is already a very strong Canberra United squad,” said De Domizio.
“Having played against them a few times, I’ve always admired their style of play and strong work ethic. Also, to now have the chance to experience the incredible support from the home fans at McKellar Park is going to be something special.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to continue growing my career at such a great club, and I’m looking forward to working under Ant and contribute to what I believe will be a very successful season”.
