United miss out on US international

Canberra United has unfortunately been unsuccessful in their negotiations to sign USA international striker Natasha Kai for Westfield W-League Season Three.

CEO of Canberra United, Heather Reid said that “Kai, who has 67 caps for the USA and 24 goals, was very keen to sign for the club however some last minute obligations in the United States will now prevent her from being able to sign for United for the full season through to February 2011”.

United supporters may still get to see the superstar in green at some stage in the 2010/11 Westfield W-League because the door has been left open for Kai to join Canberra United for the second part of the season.

Reid noted that “our negotiations to bring Kai to Canberra have, unfortunately, been unsuccessful. We had agreed to terms with the player and we were seeking an international clearance when her last minute obligations in the US curtailed her potential move.”

Whilst missing out on a world class talent is disappointing, Canberra United still boasts a powerful squad and there-s a high level of confidence that the Club will be a force in the new season which kicks off with an away trip to Perth Glory on 7th November.
