CANBERRA HEAD TO LEICHHARDT FOR UNITE ROUND CLASH AGAINST REDS

Canberra United make the trip up the Hume Highway for the second time this season, taking on Adelaide United at Leichhardt Oval as part of the A-Leagues Unite Round.

It is the second time the two sides have met this season, with the previous fixture at the very start of the season in Adelaide for Round One.

That encounter was thrilling for those in attendance, ending in a four-all draw. On the scoresheet that for Canberra were two goals from Vesna Milivojevic either side of scores from Michelle Heyman and Nickoletta Flannery.

Canberra come into this fixture having drawn their last three games, against Western United, Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets respectively.

Despite being bottom of the ladder, Canberra have been steadily improving and sit one point behind Adelaide in 11th who are coming off a five-goal drubbing at the hands of Melbourne City.

With 20 scored so far this season, Canberra sit second in the league for goals scored. Ten of those goals for Canberra have come from players aged 21 years and under which is the second most of any team.

The youth have been leading the way for Canberra, with that group of players under 21 having played a combined 5,798 minutes so far this season. That is 1,974 more than any other team.

Adelaide enters the Unite Round contest with 26 goals conceded and 13 goals scored. Four of each came in the Round One clash against Canberra.

Canberra have won two of the last three fixtures against Adelaide, scoring an average of three goals a game. All-time, there has been 26 games between the two sides. Canberra have won 15 of those, scoring 61 goals in that time, an average of 2.3 goals a game.
