Over ninety children attended the Canberra United Coaching Clinic held over three days in mid-January with United’s Premiership winning stars on hand to pass on the tips and tricks of the trade to the eager youngsters.

Fresh from securing the number one spot in the Westfield W-League with a 5-0 win over Adelaide United and preparing for their semi-final showdown with Melbourne Victory at McKellar Park on Saturday, members of the Canberra United squad were joined by Capital Football Game Development Manager Pat McCann to run the children through some specially prepared drills.
Westfield W-League golden Boot Michelle Heyman and Ashleigh Sykes were at the clinic to pass on their goalscoring tips whilst Caitlin Cooper and Snez Veljanovska taught some defensive ideals. Hayley Raso, Aroon Clansey, Jennifer Bisset, Emma Kete and Taryn Hemmings were also involved in the clinic which ran from 9am-12 noon on Monday to Wednesday.
Local media popped in on Tuesday to join in the fun with popular WIN TV Sports Reporter Greg Thomson interviewing Heyman and Cooper as well as chatting to local footballers Maddy and Rhiannon Harrison about their experiences.
All participants received a Canberra United goodie bag at the conclusion of the course which contained a specially embroidered boot bag, water bottle and key ring.
