It’s that time of year to vote for the CBR People’s Sporting Champion, and in Karly Roestbakken we think we have a pretty good nominee.

The People’s Sporting Champion presented by Canberra Milk will be awarded to Canberra’s favourite local sportsperson chosen by the people of Canberra. This is an opportunity for Canberra’s passionate sporting community to be involved in a public vote to determine their own Sporting Champion. Any member of the Canberra community can vote for the People’s Sporting Champion.

The People’s Sporting Champion presented by Canberra Milk $5000 Prize Voucher will be awarded by random draw to a school or registered sporting as part of the voting for the People’s Sporting Champion campaign, and we recommend entering ‘Canberra United Powerchair’ as your choice!

Karly began her footballing career at local club Monaro Panthers, and her meteoric rise hit another peak ahead of the FIFA Women’s World Cup as she was called up to replace the injured Laura Alleway ahead of the tournament.

Roestbakken excelled, coming on in injury time of the win against Brazil and playing a full 90 minutes in the crucial final pool game against Jamaica.
