HAYLEY TAYLOR-YOUNG RE-SIGNS WITH CANBERRA UNITED

Canberra United can confirm hometown defender Hayley Taylor-Young has re-signed with the club for the 2026/27 Ninja A-League Women season, continuing her long association with United to the delight of supporters at McKellar Park.

A product of the Canberra United Academy, Taylor-Young first made her name as a forward, finding the net 39 times in 46 matches before transitioning into an attacking full-back role in the senior side. Renowned for her searing pace and tireless engine down the flank, she has made 44 A-League Women appearances and scored twice for United, earning a reputation as one of the competition’s most consistent and popular defenders along the way.

A genuine hometown favourite, Taylor-Young’s return will be warmly welcomed by the loyal fanbase, with the local product having become a fixture of the club’s identity both on and off the park.

Head Coach Antoni Jagarinec welcomed the news:

“Hayley is a fantastic athlete and a real fan favourite, and having her back in green for another season is brilliant news. Her pace and work rate down that flank cause so many problems for opposition defences, and she’s exactly the type of homegrown player we want leading the way for this club.”

Taylor-Young said: “I’m so excited to be a part of Canberra United again. I’m looking forward to another season with the team, building on what we achieved last season and creating some more great memories together!”

Canberra United’s 2026/27 Ninja A-League Women season begins away at Central Coast Mariners on 24 October, before the club’s first home match against Western Sydney Wanderers at McKellar Park on 1 November in Matchweek 3.
