Canberra United forward Maria Rojas has joined Chilean powerhouse Santiago Morning. Rojas rejoined United for a second stint at the beginning of Season 16 and featured in thirteen matches, making eight starts.
Besides procuring a lucrative contract, Rojas will also be playing in the Copa Libertadores Femenina, featuring the best clubs and payers from across the CONMEBOL confederation.
“We are happy to allow Cote to pursue this exciting opportunity,” Canberra United CEO Samantha Farrow said. “We are always enthusiastic about seeing players who have appeared for Canberra United on the world stage.”
Rojas, a resident of Adelaide, will fly to Chile later this week to join her new club.
“I would like to thank Canberra United and my teammates for recognising this opportunity I have with this Chilean football giant,” Rojas commented.
Canberra United would like to wish Maria Rojas the best of luck with her new club.
