UNITED BACK IN ACTION AFTER EXTENDED BREAK

After an extended break due to having two games postponed, Canberra United are back in action as the Newcastle Jets touch down at McKellar Park for Round Six of the 2023/24 Liberty A-League Womens.

The recent addition of Emily Van Egmond to the Jets makes this an exciting matchup, as the team in Green look for their first win of the season.

Injuries have hit Canberra recently with Hayley Taylor-Young ruled out for the season, and Cote Rojas out for 3-4 weeks with a knee injury.

Newcastle come into this game having played five games, two more than Canberra, with a win, a draw, and 3 losses. Their win came in Round One against the Mariners, and their draw against Wanderers in Round Three.

Last time the two sides met was in Round 13 of the 2022/23 season, with Canberra getting the points in a three-goal win away.

The all-time record in this fixture heavily favours Canberra, having won 17 of the 23 encounters, scoring 58 goals across all games.

A record crowd for a regular season game was in attendance at McKellar back in Round Three, and is expected to show out in numbers again.
