CANBERRA CLINCH EMMA ROBERS SIGNING

Canberra United are pleased to announce the signing of versatile midfielder Emma Robers for the 2024/25 A-League season.

Robers joins United from Western United having played sixteen times for the team in green and black last season, having made her bow for the club back in the 2022/23 campaign when they were admitted to the league.

Playing slightly further forward, Robers netted her maiden A-League goal against Adelaide United in December 2022, the strike proving to be a match-winning one for the newly formed Western team.

Earlier in her career, Robers had signed for Melbourne Victory, making her elite level bow in 2019/20, going on to appear nine times for the club before her switch to Western United. In between times, she was a part of all-conquering NPLW Victoria team.

“We are excited to welcome Emma to the Canberra United family and are sure she will make a big impact on the group,” Head Coach Antoni Jagarinec commented on the new arrival.

“Emma is a versatile player who has a fantastic dynamism to her game. Her profile fits exactly what we are looking for in a player this season, and her A-League experience will be an important part of our squad for the new campaign.”

An all-action midfielder, Robers uses her height and strength to advantageous effect in the middle of the pitch, consistently winning her duels in a defensive capacity before springing into life to assist the attack, packing a thunderous strike with the ability to score from range.

“I am thrilled to be signing for Canberra United and am looking forward to playing my part in the club’s 2024/25 season.” Robers said. “Canberra is a wonderful city, and the club is top-class and has proven to be a successful team to play for in helping  players fulfil their potential.

“I am excited about the prospect of lining up in the colours at McKellar Park and helping the team to be successful during the new season. I can’t wait to link up with the group and get out on the pitch.

“I have been lucky enough to make finals in each of my five A-League campaigns so far, and I hope to continue that run with Canberra.”

Robers has committed to Canberra United for the 2024/25 season, and you can too! Packages for season memberships are available now on our club website at www.canberraunited.com.au.
