CANBERRA TO FACE PERTH IN UNITE ROUND

Canberra United’s Unite Round fixture has been confirmed as the club’s Liberty A-League team prepares to head to Sydney for the second edition of the A-Leagues’ ultimate away day in November.

Unite Round will be held in Sydney once again in season 2024-25 between November 22 and 24 and will feature 12 games: six in the Liberty A-League Women, and six in the Isuzu UTE A-league Men.

In the Liberty UTE A-League Women, Canberra United are set to meet Perth Glory in afternoon fixture at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday 24 November 2024.

For the first time, all full-season members at every club will be able to access complimentary tickets to Unite Round. Tickets for Unite Round go on sale for club members and general public in August.

  • Canberra United will take on Perth Glory at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday afternoon.
  • The match will form part of a Unite Round double-header at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday.
  • All Full Season members* of Canberra United will be offered the chance to redeem a complimentary ticket* to attend this match.

Following our match against Perth fans can stay and catch the twilight match between Sydney FC and Melbourne City at the same venue.

Unite Round was introduced for the 2023-24 A-Leagues seasons as part of a partnership between the Australian Professional Leagues and Destination NSW, seeing the A-Leagues stage the first full men’s and women’s round in a single city of any Australian sporting code.

“Unite Round was a truly unique experience last season, and we are looking forward to participating once again in this venture,” Canberra United CEO, Samantha Farrow, commented.

“It seems fitting in what will be the tenth anniversary season of our 2015 Grand Final victory that we should be meeting Perth Glory, whom we defeated on that memorable afternoon, once again.

“The fact that this is an additional match is also a bonus as we will still be able to offer our members eleven home matches at McKellar Park for the new campaign, plus the opportunity to receive a ticket for this enticing contest.”

This season, Leichhardt Oval will stage the six Liberty A-League Unite Round fixtures, while the men’s action will all take place at Allianz Stadium.

In both competitions, there’ll be two games on Friday, two on Saturday and two on Sunday over the weekend of November 22-24.

Canberra have fond memories of the 2023/24 Unite Round at Leichhardt Oval as the club came from 0-1 down to record a 3-1 success via a brace from Matildas superstar striker Michelle Heyman goals (both netted within a minute of each other) and a match-sealing third struck by Serbian international midfielder Vesna Milivojevic.
