CANBERRA UNITED INVITATION ONLY TRIAL MATCH

Local Canberra-based National Premier League players will be given the opportunity to shine in front of Canberra United Head Coach Antoni Jagarinec at a specially organised Trial match at McKellar Park on Wednesday evening.

Selected players, nominated by their club coaches and invited to attend, will make up two teams to play under the watchful guise of new Head Coach Jagarinec, as the newly installed boss continues preparations for the 2024/25 A-League campaign.

“It’s a good opportunity for some of our local Canberra-based NPL players to show their quality and perhaps earn themselves the chance to play at the elite level,” Jagarinec said of the match.

“Whilst our scouting network is wide, sometimes you miss something on the day, or a player is a late developer, and this trial match is an ideal opportunity for those identified at the local level to come and showcase their ability.”

United’s recruitment has been full steam ahead in the past month and, whilst no player signings have yet been made public, Jagarinec was keen to points out that momentum was gathering and hinted at some interesting additions.

“We have certainly got players inked in for the 2024/25 season,” Jagarinec commented.

“Whilst we are not in a position yet to release those names, the Canberra United supporters can be assured that we will have a competitive squad on the field for the new season. We may even have one or two surprises in store.”

The Canberra football community is invited to come and watch the trial match at McKellar Park with admission free. Pleas note, no canteen facilities will be available on the evening.
