Canberra United will look to back up a maiden Foxtel Y-League win they welcome Newcastle Jets to McKellar Park on Saturday morning.
A 2-1 win over the Central Coast Mariners last Saturday broke a losing streak stretching back to the beginning of the season, and has injected confidence into the side ahead of a two game home stand to finish the campaign.
The earlier meeting between these sides in Newcastle resulted in a 6-3 win for the Jets, a result which Head Coach Ryan Grogan previously said wasn’t reflective of how the visitors played.
Last week marked a full 90-minute performance on both ends, something that United had struggled to put together previously, but will take confidence from for Saturday’s matchup.
Grogan and Marcial Munoz will be boosted by the availability of Roko Strika, Daniel Subasic and Sam Whithear, but Antoni Timotheou, scorer of the winner last week will have to pass a fitness test on Saturday morning to make himself available.
