Canberra United’s Foxtel Y-League side returns to action this Sunday in a rescheduled match against Sydney FC at AIS Grass 2.

The match was postponed in December due to inclement weather.

Head Coach Dean Ugrinic said that it’s an opportunity that the team is looking forward to.

“As I said before the game was postponed, the boys really enjoy playing in front of a home crowd,” he said.

“They feed off the energy of the crowd, so we’re all looking forward to putting in a good performance for them.”

Ugrinic admitted that there was a feeling of disappointment in the squad after the late loss to the Central Coast in Gosford last weekend.

Brodie Carli’s header put United in front in the first half before the Mariners equalised part-way through the second stanza, and then a 97th minute winner gave the hosts a late, late victory.

Ugrinic said he felt that the side had deserved a result out of the game after leaving the Coast empty handed.

United will need to improve on finishing chances this week after coming undone too often in the final third against the Mariners.

Kick-off against Sydney FC is at 6:00pm on Sunday afternoon at AIS Grass 2.
