Julia De Angelis has committed to Canberra United for another season as she returns from college in the USA

Julia De Angelis will return to Canberra United this season for her third campaign in the green uniform, the club can now confirm.

Currently studying in the United States, De Angelis will return in December as she looks to expand on the 21 caps she has already earnt for the club.

Speaking to Canberra United this week, DeAngelis expressed her joy at returning to the club.

“I’m so excited to get the chance to play with Canberra United again this year,” she said.

“I knew straight away it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.”

Known affectionately as ‘The Kid’, De Angelis is still only 19 but already making great strides in the football community.

Canberra United Head Coach Rae Dower couldn’t speak highly enough of the talented youngster when speaking about the re-signing.

“We’re really looking forward to having Julia return after her college stint in the US, where from all accounts she’s been a valuable asset for her team,” Dower said.

“Julia is a really popular player with her teammates and we can’t wait to have her back as she’s such a hardworking, dependable player.”

“She’s got a great sense of humour too and loves to ‘drop a beat or two’ on the training park, so we’re excited to see what ‘The Kid’ has brought back from her travels.”
