MCKENZIE RETURNS FOR NEW SEASON

Canberra United are pleased to announce that local product Alex McKenzie has re-signed for the club ahead of the 2025/26 Ninja A-League season.

The former Woden Valley and Canberra United Academy junior made her debut for United in a 4-4 draw with Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium in Round 1 2023, before making a maiden home match at McKellar Park in Round 3 as United played Perth Glory.

The defender made seventeen appearances last season as United made Finals football, and was part of the matchday squad in the Elimination Final match with Central Coast Mariners to round out a solid campaign in green.

“We are delighted that Alex is back with the club again for the new Ninja A-League season,” Canberra United Head Coach Antoni Jagarinec commented about Mckenzie’s renewal.

“Alex had some very good matches last season and really grew into the role that we asked of her. She is a Canberra local and understands what the team means to the community.

“Her versatility means she can play across the back four, and her knowledge of the environment and the league as a whole will be a major benefit to us as a football club in 2025/26.”
