Canberra United are back on the road travelling to Melbourne to take on the table topping Melbourne Victory in a Friday night clash for Round Six of the 2025/26 Ninja A-League Women’s.
With a weekend off, as a result of the Round Five fixture against Sydney FC being postponed, United head into the clash against Victory having won their last outing against Perth Glory and will be refreshed and ready to go ahead of four games in 15 days.
The side will be boosted by the returns of Michelle Heyman, Liz Anton and Tegan Bertolissio, with the trio having been away on National team duty.
The hosts played the only fixture to take place last weekend, running out three-nil winners against Perth Glory in a dominating performance.
A first half onslaught from Jeff Hopkins side against Perth, saw them three-nil up at the break with Hopkins able to bring on A-Leagues Grand Final Winner Taylor Ray, in a boost to the quality that his side already possesses.
With 10 goals scored in five games, Victory have the best attack in the league with their American import Kennedy White topping the goalscoring charts with five scores in her debut A-League season.
Defence will be key for United in order to stop the high scoring Victory side, who are currently on a streak of seven wins in a row at their home ground.
It has been a long time between wins over Melbourne Victory for United, having not won against the Navy Blue side in the last 12 encounters, with the match ending in a draw on five occasions.
