Canberra United have stretched their unbeaten run to six games, with a 93rdminute winner from 18 year old Sienna Dale, sealing the three points on the road.
Head Coach Antoni Jagarinec made just the one change to the starting side, with Tegan Bertolissio coming in for Jazmin Wardlow.
United looked the better of the two sides in the opening stages, with the Canberra backline relatively untroubled throughout the half.
Up top, Emma Hawkins and Michelle Heyman kept the Jets defence busy with a plethora of chances, but the attacking duo were unable to get past a solid Tash Prior in the centre of the host’s defence, and Anna Leat in goals who was equally up to the task.
Newcastle had chances of their own, with Melina Ayres and India Breier going for goal, but failing to trouble Sally James at all.
Despite United having eleven shots to three in the first half, the two sides went into the break with the scores level.
The second half started similarly to the first with United continue to apply the pressure to the Jets defence.
Hawkins had a golden opportunity eight minutes into the half, with Leat claiming well to keep the scores level.
United had all the chances, but could not find the back of the net. Bethany Gordon tried her luck, only denied by the woodwork.
Coming into the match with 20 minutes to go, Mary Stanic-Floody struck the ball on target, with Elizabeth Copus-Brown managing to get in front of the shot.
With the match looking like it would end all square, United continued their streak of scoring in every game this season as substitute Sienna Dale found the back of the net.
A glorious flick pass from Stanic-Floody fell perfectly for Dale, with the young striker lobbing the onrushing Leat for the winner and her second goal of the season.
