Canberra United is pleased to announce an agreement with the University of Canberra whereby the University will become front of shorts sponsors for Season Three of the Westfield W-League.

Canberra United FC and the University of Canberra will focus on developing a strategic partnership that will contribute to a higher profile for women-s sport and promoting the education and learning opportunities for women across Australia and from overseas..

As ‘Australia-s Capital University-, the University of Canberra is at the forefront in the provision of a range of education options, including specific courses in sports administration, coaching, science and media, and is leading by example through its support of Canberra United.

The partnership will allow both Canberra United and the University of Canberra to work together to promote appropriate opportunities and services for individuals and other businesses.

Amongst many mutually beneficial opportunities the partnership will enhance Canberra-s reputation as a centre of excellence in football development, coaching and sports science as well as help Canberra United attract new overseas players, particularly from Asia, to the player roster.

Equally important is the fact that through the University, Canberra United will be able to access quality training and sports science facilities and provide additional community engagement for players and coaching staff.

Canberra United CEO, Heather Reid, said: “We are delighted to welcome on board the University of Canberra as our new front of short sponsors. Many of our players are currently studying at or have graduated from the University and sporting bodies generally in the ACT have benefited from the recruitment of graduates in our organisations. The University and Canberra United are integral parts of the ACT community and the partnership will enhance our existing arrangements.”
