Canberra United will meet the National Premier League (NPL) All-Stars at McKellar Park tomorrow afternoon as part of the Ninja A-League club’s 2024/25 Season Launch with admission free to the training match.

United, under the tutelage of new Head Coach Antoni Jagarinec, will take to their home Stadium turf for the first-time on Saturday afternoon, mixing it with some of the best that the local League can offer on what is shaping up to be a memorable day in the National Capital.

Supporters seeking to get a feel for Canberra United, and what the Ninja A-League has to offer, can come along to the open venue session from 12:30 when they will be able to take in the areas of the ground that are usually off-limits on Matchday, such as the players tunnel, changing rooms, and operations rooms.

This access will be for a strictly limited time before they are closed as the players prepare for the contest at hand. And it promises to be a decent integration into life in the green shirts for those available to be selected.

After being introduced to the stadium in the player’s presentation, United will take to the park against a team that contains five of the team that won the NPL League Championship and Grand Final double with Canberra Olympic goalkeeper Janet King, who has been trialing with United, joined by teammates Kat Peric, Tianah Miro, Nicole Jalocha, and Madelyn Whittall.

Belconnen United, who call McKellar Park home, will send Bronte Pyke, Sofia Palywoda, and striking sensations Alyssa Di-Campli, Golden Boot winner in 2024, and Reilly Yuen as their four representatives.

Elsewhere, the Gungahlin United duo of Stella De Marco and Ginger Oliver, are joined by Canberra Croatia’s Rhiannon Fensom, Nadia Zakman, and Arusha Chew, with O’Connor Knights Ivana Galic completing the NPL squad, which will be coached by Belconnen United Head Coach, Scott Conlon.

As with all scratch teams, it will be interesting to see what the NPLW All-Stars can deliver, but no doubt those attending will be able to witness a high-level game on football that will kick-off Canberra United’s 2024/25 Ninja A-League campaign in some style.

NPLW ALL-STARS: Janet KING (Canberra Olympic), Kat PERIC (Canberra Olympic), Bronte PYKE (Belconnen United), Nadia ZAKMAN (Canberra Croatia), Rhiannon FENSOM (Canberra Croatia), Ivana GALIC (O’Connor Knights), Stella DE MARCO (Gungahlin United), Nicole JACLOCHA (Canberra Olympic), Sofia PALYWODA (Belconnen United), Tianah MIRO (Canberra Olympic), Ginger OLIVER (Gungahlin United), Madelyn WHITTALL (Canberra Olympic), Alyssa DI-CAMPLI (Belconnen United), Reilly YUEN (Belconnen United), Arusha CHEW (Canberra Croatia)
